This unusual 40 3/4" spoon, stamped "CH Corbett / Dorsett GC" on its crown, is designed to get at golf balls that other spoons cannot. The heel and toe of the sole are sharply angled in opposite directions. This will allow the club to play a ball in a cupped lie much easier than a typical wood. The fact that the full depth of the head remains across a thin strip from the front of the head, beginning directly behind the center of the face, to the back of the head allowed the club to play from normal grassy lies. This thin strip is covered by a thin brass plate, a thin brass plate also being fastened behind the leading edge.
There are two lead buttons in the back of the head, one on each side of the central thin brass plate.
The shaft is original and the sueded leather grip is old and appears to be original. This fascinating club remains in outstanding condition.
